The Art of Lauren Partington

A quick little drawing of Michelle Violy Harper followed by a bit of playing around in TVPaint and a young Molly Ringwald a la Pretty in Pink.

Heaven on Earth

Tonight I watched Deepa Mehta's film "Heaven on Earth" which ended up being the inspiration for this sketch.  Not really finished, but something I'd like to develop further.  You know, maybe a body.

Mood Boards and Concept Sketches

Although I changed my story in the fifth week, the design style remained the same and I also carried over one of the characters.

Below are my mood boards and the first concept sketches of my original characters, Left and Right (contrasting characters).
My "Left" and "Right" characters were a take on the different sides of the brain and a little good vs. evil.  Very cliche, one of the many reasons I changed the story.

Anyone who knows me knows I adore couture because it's where art and fashion collide and correspond with one another.  It's beautiful to look at and every piece tells a story.  McQueen's work is more art than clothing; his work is absolutely incredible.
I am also huge on masks, which is directly reflected in my film.

First Pass

I was throwing story ideas all over the place during the summer before fourth year but finally settled on one, only to change my mind into the fifth week of pre-production!
Heavily influenced by McQueen, couture, and Chanel's studio in Paris.  I wanted to keep my film simple, in that it could and would communicate properly to the audience.
Here is my first pass (very, very rough) from my fourth year film at Sheridan.

Kzeniya London

Inspired by a photo from fashion blogger Style On The Couch, I whipped this little piece up.  These Kzeniya clutches are geometrical eye candy!
